Stevie Wonder Expertly Calls Out Donald Trump For Insulting Detroit

Stevie Wonder is calling out former President Donald Trump for insulting Detroit.
During a concert at the city’s Little Caesar’s Arena on Tuesday night, the legendary Michigan-born Motown artist brought up the Republican nominee’s recent dig that the entire country would “be like Detroit” if his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, is elected.
While performing a cover of the Four Tops’ classic song, “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” Wonder — who’s endorsed Harris for president — said: “I just gotta say for the record, I don’t like nobody talking bad about Detroit,” Variety reported.
The singer then led the crowd in a chant saying, “Don’t cha do it!”
Trump has come under fire for bashing Detroit during a speech he made while speaking in the city earlier this month at the Detroit Economic Club.
“Our whole country will end up being like Detroit if she’s your president,” he said of Harris at the time. “You’re going to have a mess on your hands.”
Harris has slammed the former president, who has since made other negative comments about Detroit, for his remarks about the largest city in Michigan.
She told reporters that his speech was “just a further piece of evidence on a very long list of why he is unfit to be president of the United States,” The Associated Press reported.
Wonder’s concert on Tuesday was part of a 10-date U.S. tour he launched ahead of the presidential election titled “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart.”
The “Higher Ground” singer performed and delivered a speech at the Democratic National Convention in August.

“It is time to get up and go vote,” Wonder said onstage at the DNC. “Listen, the choice is clear.”
“We must choose to be above the ugly words, the hateful anger and the division those words and anger create,” he later added.
